Therefore, we seek out eliminating all accident causing hazards and conditions while making every effort possible to comply with all applicable regulations.

Unfortunately, accidents and injuries are no strangers to the construction industry. In an effort to transform the history of daunting statistics, Main Enterprises, Inc. continues its trend of incident intolerance in the construction industry through unwavering commitment to its safety program. Our effective safety program provides for an extensive network of planning, procedures, training and culture that can eliminate the risk of harm on a construction project.

On-site safety begins where project managers and safety personnel take a detailed look at all aspects of a construction site to identify potential safety risks that may arise during construction. By planning ahead, strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations is made possible and is expected from all employees. All field personnel and managers alike undergo extensive training on the following:

  • Scissors lift certification
  • Hot Work
  • Accident Reporting
  • Ladders & Scaffolds
  • First Aid
  • Lock-Out Tag-Out
  • Confined Space
  • Defensive Driving
  • Fall Protection
  • Fire Stopping/Fire Safing
  • Rigging & Cranes
  • Fire Prevention
  • Welding/Brazing
  • Osha 10-Hr

Our efforts to establish and maintain guidelines for safety have not gone unnoticed. Employees and customers alike have commented on how refreshing it is that Main Enterprises, Inc. not only holds an interest in its performance from a mechanical standpoint but also puts an impressive amount of effort to ensure that the interests of its constituents are held at the highest level of importance.

We hold quarterly Safety Committee Meetings, weekly Toolbox Talks, and weekly Site-Specific Safety Surveys, each of which is geared to looking at a project with an emphasis strictly on safety to identify potential risks that can be addressed. A plan of action is then implemented so each member of the construction team can mitigate the hazards and follow through with the guidelines provided.

A key part of our safety program is the orientation program that introduces the concept of the Company’s safety culture. On the first day of an employee’s life cycle, the orientation focuses on the importance of safety as well as the Company’s expectations for compliance. Orientation is an important way to introduce the safety program not only as a list of requirements but also as a state of mind that every employee is committed to.

The safety program at Main Enterprises, Inc. has received numerous accolades by accredited officials, such as the CT ABC (Association of Builders and Contractors), for our ongoing commitment to safety and improvements in practice which shows not only compliance but an engagement of foresight. We are proud to prevent countless construction incidents and to actually save money and lives while improving productivity in the long run.
